It Must Be New Year’s
Because it’s the Third Annual JenLa Knit Blog Awards. Now that the balls have dropped, grab your aspirin and and your hair-of-the-dog New Years Likker. And while you’re in the medicine cabinet, be sure to grab a double dose of Shutthefuckup, too. Because this year’s awards came so close to not happening that we even told a few people the tradition was defunct due to a few whiners last year that tried to spoil the fun. We make this shit up for our own amusement. The order is as random as the awards. It means NOTHING, people. So for the few of you who are fiendishly rubbing your hands together waiting to pounce on these as a way to make one of those “but I deserve that more than her” dramas? Save it for the playground, sister. Everyone who is wearing their big girl panties is welcome to dive right on in.
————————————————–
1. Favorite Bi-lingual Blog: Mustaa Villaa. She could also compete in the photography section and WOW can that girl knit!! This is a great blog for inspiration.
2. Best Comment left on a JenLa post: Kristi & Otis of Red Dog Knits.
3. Most Popular Book: Stitch McYarnpants’ “Museum of Kitschy Stitches“; Mason Dixon’s “Mason Dixon Knitting” and Wendy’s “Neverending Adventures in Yarn“. Yup, it’s our award show, and if we want a 3-way, we’ll have a 3-way, dammit.
4. The “Clue by Four” Award goes to Peeve. She gets us. She really REALLY gets us!
5. The Jaws, aka Fresh Blood Award goes to: Ok, wow there are one hell of a lot of new knitting blogs lately. And a bunch of them are actually good! So this year instead of deciding, we’re awarding a whole list of our faves as a way to say “Welcome to the Bloggerhood”. In no particular order:
Big Alice
Knitting Without Dog Hair Is Not An Option
SlowKnitter
Knitting With The Bird
Trailing Yarn
Tukats
Knitting Troll
6. Most Popular Knitalong was hands-down the Knitting Olympics. We all chose teams, prepped, trained and conditioned. Jen went apeshit making buttons, and everybody cheered for everybody. Jen even took home some gold. I think we all went home with a sense of accomplishment.
7. Knotion of the Year: Knitpicks Options. We have mixed feelings at best about Knitpicks to be sure, but Jen and La were the only knitters in blogistan who didn’t jump on these, so they must be great. Right?
8. The meme that almost killed us: ABC-along. For starters, La was tempted to join but she couldn’t think of a cuss word for Z and the attempt almost made her head explode.
9. Bounce Back Award: Lee Ann for surviving a craniotomy with her sense of humor and cheerful attitude intact. Jen/La may have had a shitty year but at least nobody pried our skulls open and fiddled with the creamy filling.
10. Which naturally brings us to the Big Love Award given to Imbrium and her accomplice, Juno for comforting Lee Ann with Things On The Doorstep. There were a lot of people involved with that one, and we are brought to tears just thinking of how wonderful bloggers can be to one another. Oh and CONGRATULATIONS, MS. IM!!!!!! Can we come to the wedding? We’ll bring beer.
11. Twice As Nice award: The Rainey Sisters, Two sisters, one knitting blog. They got our attention with the Sock Monkey Dress, but have held it due to their amazing knitting.
12. Biggest Irritation: The eleventyhundred different Secret goddamned pals. What are we up to now? Uber-Snarky-Cosmo-Atomic-Top-Secret-Stealth-Better-than-Covert-
Pal-Black-Ops-Swap-O-Rama #2,179? Wait, before you answer that, what’s the password?
13. Cutest Couple: Chaos and Mayhem. Duh.
14. The As The Purl Turns Blogudrama award goes to the “Popular Kids Suck” fiasco. ‘Nuff said.
15. Best Tutorials: Eunny not only tutors us on her blog, she is becoming a regular technical contributor for IK.
16. The Hallelujuh! it’s a Good ol’ Revival Award goes to Jill for her miraculous resurrection! Can I get an Amen?
17. Best Non-Knitting Blog has to go to Farmgirl Fare for the combination of beautiful pictures, SHEEP, delicious recipes and the stories.
18. The Most Enthusiastic Knitter award goes to Cara. She was infectious. Hey, she even got US pumped a couple of times! Happy Birthday chica!
19. Biggest Yarn Craze: Everyone was singing the praises of Malabrigo, though Socks that Rock was still a contender.
20. The Hydrant Award goes to Blogger for the biggest hosing of ‘06. Yup, Blogger’s back up to it’s same old shit. Do you have to ask why? Say it with me people…Because Blogger Blows!
21. Golden Frog Award: Life in LaLaLumay Land. Gina has refined the art of frogging. Sure, she pulls out a lot of stitches, but she does it with style, grace and pragmatic introspection. While wearing fabulous shoes. Patience, thy name is Lumay.
22. Most Popular Meme: Project Spectrum, and yes, this one almost killed us too. But your entries were really interesting…
23. Best Use of Swearing: It’s a Threepeat!!!! Rabbitch wins again, but with Cheap Ass Knitter on the scene, her crown may not be as secure as she thinks.
24. Brain Candy Award: Nake-id Knits provides some of the best, most interesting and horizon-broadening links out there. Like we need the distraction.
25. Best Buns Award goes to Grace’s Sugar Ray. We got to meet this bit of fluff in person. And what about that Bunny Cam? Some serious cuteness going on right there.
26. Overshare, aka TMI, aka Poke Out My Mind’s Eye award goes to: Evil Science Chick for reminding us all what the sex life of newly wed monkeys is like. Redefining “knitting porn”! You don’t see us tearing our eyes away, do you?
27. Best Extracurricular Blog Thing Award: Flat Scout. Man, that girl get’s around!
28. Best Photography: Brooklyn Tweed. We know, we know; he’s cheating. But when both the knitting and the model look this good we’d be idiots (watch it) to choose anyone else.
29. Favorite Knitblogger Moment: I can sum it up on one acronym: SAFF. (See the roll-call here) We went, we met, we ate, we drank , we gossiped, we spied, we shopped, we patted and then we went home. It was a PERFECT weekend…well, except for the La-on-her-deathbed part.
30. Handiest Blog Tool: Statcounter. You know you couldn’t live without knowing what weird google hits you’re getting.
31. Pusher Award: Another 3-way tie. It was tough because there are numerous bloggers out there who have started up stores, plus those who sell on Etsy, but CK’s store, Wendy’s store and Scout’s store take up a large part of our time with the browsing. And though La will be knitting from stash, Jen will be stashing up this year, so here’s the heads up on where to fall off the wagon!
32. Keep Blogistan Beautiful Award: Tie! Sandy for Saturday Sky and Purley Whites for Eye Candy Friday. Thanks for these memes which are not only easy on the eyes, but truly interesting!
33. Kindred Spirits Award: Carole Knits. And we have so much in common with her, we’re thinking she can write our blog for us when we get lazy.
34. The Weezie, (aka Movin’ on Up Award) goes to Stacey, she wised up, got the hell off blogger, got her own domain with a spiffy new name and a bright new look!
35. Please Adopt Us Awards: NanKnits. Oh the sarcasm! Oh the assal appreciation! We promise to be really good, do our chores and give you lots of yarn every Mother’s Day!
36. The Dory Award goes to Deb. Through multiple hard-drive crashes, computer explosions, illnesses, tragic loss, and all the crap life served up for her this year, she kept on knitting and blogging, and it was beautiful and we love her for it.
37. Post More, Dammit! Award: 2 Sticks, Some String, And the Odd Jackal. Originally we planned to retire this award as it was one of those that was used against us last year, but we know the Jackal [and her friends] (a) won’t take offense (b) has a sense of humor and (c) knows damn well she needs to put down the sticks and type more.
38. Most Underappreciated Blog Award goes to Carrie, aka Pacalaga at Strickerin. You all should really read her, but don’t let her KNOW you read her, because then it’ll go to her head and she’ll be too good to talk to us in IM anymore.
39. We have been mulling over the Podcast section of our awards with furrowed brows and much pacing of floors. We know we’re biased and this caused us some doubts. But then we remembered we’re also lazy, opinionated and have terrible speech hygeine and that never seems to bother us. Besides, just because we’re friends with someone shouldn’t mean they can’t win an award, right? Especially since they’re OUR awards. So our Best Podcast Award goes to Pixie Purls. She sticks with the fiber and we like that. She takes us places we didn’t know about. Her voice is pleasant and we like the look of her blog, too. The only complaint-and we’re not the only ones who think so-is that there aren’t enough of them. Come on, Pixie, the Awards Have Spoken.
40. The Pun Intended goes to Marcia and her very clever, very droll, VERY CONSTANT use of puns. It’s a gift, really. No. REALLY!
41. Most Missed Blogger: Kitten Avec Whip. We’re not linking because some non-knitting lame-ass snapped up her domain name when she released it. (That happened to us too) Oh, Kitten, come back to us…
42. Most Successful Swap was the Dye-O-Rama, hosted by Scout, Noelle, Monica and Cookie. The swap for the anti-swapper. Well organized, online forms, preplaced angels to avoid sucky swapper syndrome.
43. Scared the Crap Out of Us Award: Indigo Muse was MIA for a really long time. Oh sure, her reasons were all good and acceptable, but we worry, you know. Welcome back!’
44. Bite My Ass Award goes to Ringsurf for totally and completely dropping the ball on any technical support whatsoever in conjunction with the now defunct California Knit Bloggers Web Ring. Hell, we refuse to even LINK them, they suck so bad.
45. Mom Always Liked You Better Award: You know the older, prettier, smarter, more successful, harder-working sister? The one you want to be like but you always fall short? That’s Norma. We mean this in a good way. She eats right, exercises, knits for charity, has a huge group of blog friends, a very busy and successful career and she’s bossy. Now how do we get her hand-me-downs?
46. Tagged Us And Lived To Tell The Tale Award: Hockey Mom. Made us both do a meme. Right here on our blog. That’s two of the same meme on one blog. It takes not only bravery, but survival skills to do such a thing. Also? It takes love. We’ve got plenty of it for her, too.
47. Diamond Award: Knitting, With Dogs. Because she’s multi-faceted, glittering and she makes us happy. She’s like the grown up we all want to be. She knits awe inspiring lace, she is a technical spinning goldmine, she always manages to put some intellectual content in her blog and she’s fun. She’s also a sweet, kind, helpful and friendly person IRL, too. Blogistan would be much poorer without her.
48. Just Like Family Award: Knitorious. We’ve asked Vicki to adopt us in the past, but really, if you read her blog you feel like you’re part of her family anyway. Whether you’re crying for her brother, rooting for her girls, eating her delicious food, commiserating with her on her knits or looking back to what it was like when we were kids together, you really feel a part of her family when you read her blog. Plus? It’s all warm and fuzzy and not dysfunctional and there’s yarn! This was almost the “Feels so Comfortable” Award.
49. Queen of the Socks: It was tough, this one. There are a lot of you sock-lovin’ fools out there, but Jane’s over the top ass-crazy for them.
50. You Say You Want An Evolution? Award: Knotty Mouse has come a long way with her knitting, her spinning and she started herself up an online store! Jen desperately needs a Llama Llama Goat set of stitch markers! [yes, goat].
51. Most Misspelled Word Award: Meme. It’s not that everyone is technically misspelling it, it’s just that people keep doing that same damned play on spelling and putting ME ME or something to that effect. Make it stop. And please do NOT think this gets “definately” and “guage” off the hook, these drive us crazy like squeaky acrylic on aluminum needles.
52. Ooooo The Colors Award: Hello Yarn. And she puts them on fiber! We could have called this the droolworthy award.
53. Cutest Non-Breathing Blog Mascot: Dotty of Domesticat fame. She goes everywhere, and does everything, and we’re slightly jealous.
54. Best Blog Pet: Peaches! Peaches (and mom, Nanette) helps many poor bunnies lead happier lives. And Nanette is also a great technical writer, a jaw-dropping color knitter and prolific, to boot. You’re looking so sleek and svelte, these days, Peaches!
55. Best Accent: Knitting My Time Away. We read Susoolu’s posts with thoughts of all the best Britcoms in mind. She has that snappy, dry sense of humor that makes us hurt from the laughing.
56. Personal Best Award goes to Mim. Her Icarus Shawl was published in Interweave Knits! And if that wasn’t enough, she keeps churning out beautiful lace designs. What an awesome accomplishment!
57. The “Knitting Poetry/Artistic License And Yarn/Also Technical” Award: The Knitting Fiend. Please observe the 5-7-5 format of our award title. And please, don’t forget about Lucia’s calculators and other tools!
58. The Alterknit Crafter Awardis a tie this year: Moonie for her sinful soaps and lotion sicks (go buy some, you won’t regret it!) & Girl on the Rocks, who does a metric shit ton of crafts that’ll make your head spin. Damn, better not give her any more ideas! [it's a european measurement]
59. Come Back Kid Award: goes to Knitting Alpacas because she deleted her blog and proceeded to not only come back but to do it with a nice new template. Plus, she has ALPACAS, people. Go encourage her to keep posting!
60. I’m Too Sexy For This Blog Award: Sammy, who totally WORKED the bunny slippers.
61. Our Favorite Hooker: Warm Fuzzies doesn’t just crochet, though. Still, she wins this award for her irresistable amigurumis. You’ll be picking up the hook, too.
62. The Tiny Tim Award goes to Margene for her Knit Unto Others Knitalong. She helped us take time out from our frenetically frenzied holiday flurry to do something special for someone less fortunate. Wool bless us, every one!
63. Best Designer: We are having trouble picking between Amelia and Eunny, who both appeal to every aesthetic sense we have. The knitting world needs more graceful, tasteful, classic designs like these two are putting out there.
64. Secretly Famous Award: Almost Felted. Lots of those pictures of sweaters and stuff that you see in the mags and ads? She knits those! But Oh, the secrecy. Imagine being fast enough and good enough to knit for all those yarn companies, though. When you’re done with that, imagine being paid in yarn. Yeah….
65. Amazing FO Award: Claudia’s Hyrna. It’s a gorgeous pattern, a gorgeous yarn and color but really it boils down to the fact that it is a perfect match to its model. It’s a total package.
66. Our Favorite Blogging Stalker:There are a few, some blogless, that are our favorites, but Carrie of My Middle Name is Patience has been the most consistant. And we mean that in all the good ways, honest!
67. Head Troublemaker Award: goes to Organizer Extraordinaire, aka the Lone Arranger, Claudia. She could also have won the most Stitch N Bitch memberships award. Jen’s SnB, as well as a couple others, would be screwed without superwoman, here.
68. Best Post of the Year: This one. It’s not only brief and to the point, it’s also recent.
69. Harnessing The Power of the Knitter Award: Yarn Harlot for Knitters Without Borders. Stephanie isn’t content to make us laugh and cry and run screaming in horror. She’s also saving the world. She saw the potential of all us knitters and harnessed it for good. Which helps make up for some of the evil she does by causing the knitfection to spread.
————————————————-
So there it is. If it’s like past years, we’ll think of 25 more awards we wanted to give out the instant we return from having our stomachs pumped, but it will be too late by then. 2006 sucked some major ass around these parts. Jen was inclined to say that she hoped 06 doesn’t let the door hit it on the ass on the way out, but La countered that she hoped it got the shit beat out of it on it’s way through. 2007 is starting somewhat auspiciously, which is a post for another day, but it gives us a feeble sort of hope. If we could have one single wish for this new year, it would be that nobody in our blog community is touched by cancer of their loved ones, both human and furry. Failing that, we wish you much knitting success, learning, rivers of yarn and most definitely
A Happy New Beer!

Great choices!

January 1st, 2007 at 1:21 am

I almost pee’d my pants reading #12! And don’t worry, I’m not a sore loser. I know I didn’t deserve to make the cut this year. You kind of have to knit and post to be considered. Just in case you were losing sleep over it I wanted you to know I was okay. sniff. LOL!
January 1st, 2007 at 5:29 am
Enjoyed reading the awards! Thanks for my first laugh of the new year
(and for all the blogs to add to my list)
January 1st, 2007 at 5:50 am
Thanks to your awards I’ve found a lot of new (to me) blogs. Whether spending more time on the internet is a good thing or not is relative…. Anyway, wishing you both the best in 2007!
January 1st, 2007 at 7:26 am
Kiitos! Thank you!
January 1st, 2007 at 9:01 am
I adore the list and I hate Kelly Petkin at Knitpicks. Happy 2007!
January 1st, 2007 at 9:06 am

thanks.
i hope 2007 rocks for both of you.
January 1st, 2007 at 9:38 am
You did it again. Can I buy you both a (health food) drink? THIS was a HELL of a LOT of work, women!
Love you both and hope 2007 is a kinder, gentler year for you. Jen, are you lookin’ at seed catalogs yet? I had my Sharpie out yesterday…..
And shit, you said I exercise. Cripes, is THAT a lie recently. Guess I better get out there today, eh?
January 1st, 2007 at 9:55 am
I’m there! I’m on the list! So happy! And - you consider me worthy enough to be a consider spirit. Whoa. Dudes, I’m completely flattered.
Okay, enough about me. The list is wonderful and what a crapload of work. Thanks for doing it again, I had a blast reading it and I’m psyched for all the new blogtrolling I’ve got ahead of me. mwah
January 1st, 2007 at 9:56 am
Aw, you guys just made my day! Happy New Year!
January 1st, 2007 at 9:56 am
I got so excited I forgot the words I wanted to use. Doh. That’s KINDRED spirit. Sheesh.
January 1st, 2007 at 10:07 am
Happy New Year *hic* to you too — and thanks for the blog trolling help, as always.
January 1st, 2007 at 10:10 am
I always look forward to your awards and discovering blogs I didn’t know about, but never thought I’d be in ‘em. Sheesh, me AND my ego blush. Oh, by the way, last night, vodka and Jaywalker heel turning, don’t try it.
January 1st, 2007 at 10:19 am
Thanks so much for posting your awards. They give me something to aspire to and interesting new places to visit in the blogosphere. And you’re right…Blogger Sucks.
January 1st, 2007 at 10:22 am
Happy New Year Ladies! This just may be what I need to rekindle the ol’ posting spirit.
January 1st, 2007 at 10:22 am
Teeheehee, Jen and La said my name!
Happy New Year, y’all. I hope 2007 is as good for you both as you deserve.
And DAMN that’s a lotta blogs I gotta go read now. I think you just doubled my subscription list.
January 1st, 2007 at 11:19 am
CheapAssKnitter is one of my favorite bloggers. It’s nice to see her way with words acknowledged.
January 1st, 2007 at 11:39 am
Damn, girls - I made your list? Holy fucksakes, as Norma would say. BTW: I’m pretty sure “Zoot” counts as a cuss word, but alas, too late now.
Next year, could you have an award category for website names that get you dumped into porn spam? Mine seems to all the time and I’d like something good to come of it for a change.
Thanks for the list - fun as always!
January 1st, 2007 at 11:54 am
That was seriously fun to read. Happy New Year and all the best for a wonderful 2007!
January 1st, 2007 at 12:01 pm
Aww.. thanks for the mention! I’ll log your request for stitch markers as well.. hee hee!
January 1st, 2007 at 12:01 pm

Looking up and glad to do it!
January 1st, 2007 at 12:02 pm
Aw, Chappy’s crushed at missing out on the best blog-pet award but, well, the competition was fierce! I’ll give him a biscuit and I’m sure that will help…. As always, LOVE your awards! And now I have to go check out the blogs I haven’t heard of before….
January 1st, 2007 at 12:22 pm
Ooh! How did I forget about this tradition!? I love this thing you do, it makes my bloglines crash (okay, maybe not hard that one) and I’m always blown away by all the cool people out there I hadn’t seen, so don’t let the naysayers get ya down. (And thanks for the linky, I appreciate it more than I can say, really)
Can’t wait to hear about the auspicious beginning (a great sale on guard llamas? An estate sale by clueless heirs of blue ribbon alpacas? [I'm imagining a sign: $30 and U haul 'em])
Happy ew year/beer to you all too!
January 1st, 2007 at 12:22 pm
Oops. “new,” I wasn’t trying to make a cutesy ewe pun, I swear.
January 1st, 2007 at 12:36 pm
Mmmm. The shutthefuckup is so DELICIOUS this time of year.
I’m still laughing over “assbeagle”.
January 1st, 2007 at 12:56 pm
Awesome list. I have just spent the last couple of yours checking out lots of sites I never knew, and adding a bunch of them to my bloglines list - including yours. This is my first time on your blog (via Norma). I must have been living under a rock.
January 1st, 2007 at 1:31 pm
SO many new blogs to read, so little time (well, I’ll have more once I get the christmas tree down). Happy friggin’ new year to you!
January 1st, 2007 at 2:07 pm
You guys are the best. You totally make my day — what a great list — and not just because I’m on it. ; ) Honest to god, y’all ARE family… come on over anytime, we’ll make room, pull in a few more chairs, you can use my knitting needles, I’m sure I’ve got some yarn…
I am SO with you on the better stuff in the new year thing. Amen.
January 1st, 2007 at 2:28 pm
Great work ladies! I have found a few new blogs with your awards.
wishing you a wonderful New Year.
January 1st, 2007 at 2:58 pm
You like me…you still like me;-)
You two know how to crack the Bloggerhood up and, as always, hit the nail on the pecker. I’ll do my best to knot misspel werds and meet your standerds.
May you both have a fabulous 2007.
January 1st, 2007 at 3:00 pm
Happy New Year to you both. Great list again - lots of blogs to check out; I see my Bloglines list getting longer!
January 1st, 2007 at 3:27 pm
I feel honored. Do I win a prize?
xoxo to you!
January 1st, 2007 at 3:53 pm
Freak out. I love it when you ladies do this. Each year I am introduced to more knitterly bloggers and it adds to my blogline addiction as well as my procrastination at work addiction.
Woo hooo .. now … I just need to become interesting enough to get on your list *hehe*
Thanks you two … Happy new years!
January 1st, 2007 at 4:10 pm
Aw…thanks, girls! And of course you’re both invited to the wedding!
Holy shit…I have to plan a wedding.
Excuse me, I have to go panic now.
January 1st, 2007 at 4:57 pm
I’d like to thank the little people… Thanks for the honor of being a part of your awards - you guys rock!
January 1st, 2007 at 5:23 pm
I look forward to this a ridiculous amount every year. Yay awards! This is way better than the oscars!

January 1st, 2007 at 6:25 pm
Holy Cow, thanks for the mention! And thanks for making the list after all- I enjoyed it. I love finding out about fun blogs that are new to me.
January 1st, 2007 at 6:42 pm
You know…..TallDutchie just stared when I started jumping up and down squeeing “I got a JenLa!!! I got a JENLA!!! I GOT A JENLA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”
It’s a Jackal thing. He don’t get it.
Happy new beers and cheers to you two, too.
January 1st, 2007 at 6:50 pm
Thank You, ladies. Thank you. Would it be gauche of me to show up to the Governor’s Ball in my sweats? What if I bring wine?
I’m sorry that I missed the “popular kids suck” fiasco, did it have something to do with not swallowing? Seriously, that’s definately rude. Heh.
Happy New Year Jen and La, may 2007 kick 2006’s sorry motherfucking ass!
January 1st, 2007 at 7:12 pm
Finally catching up on blog land and I came across your yearly post and I wanted to say THANK YOU! Every year you give us a handful of great blogs to go and visit :-)!
January 1st, 2007 at 7:31 pm
Last year, when I didn’t win an award, I thought “I must try harder this year!” and then promptly forgot all about it, and this year, again, I suck. And I’m not worried about it.
I actually popped in to say that I read your comment over at Norma’s re: voila/viola, Jen, and I thought “who is this funny person? I love her! I’m going to yell VIOLA too!” and then I saw that it was you, and thought “Oh! I DO love her. I should go say ‘hi’.” (Note proper use of punctuation and everything.) Hope all is well with you.
January 1st, 2007 at 8:04 pm
I’ve gone all blushy and red (though it could just be the hangover’s hangover - let me just say that smoked salmon is no longer my friend).
Thank you, thank you, thank you!
January 1st, 2007 at 8:49 pm
I so look forward to the Annual JenLa Knit Blog Awards. I always find so many great new blogs, and this year did not dissappoint. You ladies RAWK!
And the only reason I did number 3 was because last year I was named in #37.
I do remember making a comment about it last year, but I hope you realized I was just being cheeky. I was comepletely flattered. It was nice to know you wanted more. And I’m glad you enjoyed the book. I truly did write for all my favorite bloggers, including you gals. Anyone else who reads it is just icing on the cake. One again you flatter my by including me with such great company.
I hope 2007 treats you like the rock stars you are. You both deserve it.
*smooch*
January 1st, 2007 at 9:01 pm

May the sorrows of the past year pass in to darkness.

Always a hilarious round-up. I’ve seen y’all in 2004, 2005, and 2006. Let’s keep the streak alive, okay?
January 2nd, 2007 at 9:25 am
Oh, wow. You know, it’s because I live in a house full of men, I have “honorary” balls!
Thanks! (blushing)

I knew I was knitting all those socks for a reason! But really, wow, I’m so excited to be included. The list, as always, is fabulous and it’s so exciting seeing all the new-to-me blogs. I’m working my way down the list and my bloglines is getting longer and longer. See ‘ya at Distaff Day,Jen, and La, you ARE flying in for Maryland this year, right??

January 2nd, 2007 at 1:06 pm
Awe! I love you gals! I thought “JenLa blog awards are up and no links from there… I guess I didn’t get one *sniff* I must have not done anything extraordinary this year” and then voila! I’m #56, but without a link (which explains the no link referrals). Thanks so much! I miss talking to La on IM too.
Hope you both have a better year than last.

Peaches would thank you for the kind words but she’s too busy nibbling at the woodwork. Bunny diets suck.
Happy New Year!
January 2nd, 2007 at 2:22 pm
Thank you for introducing me to some new blogs. And thank you for making my loser projects feel like winners!
January 2nd, 2007 at 2:42 pm
Sugar Ray thanks you and will allow for pictures and possibly more bunny cam soon. (The cat is in heat and convinced that he can help her with this. Keeps me entertained.)
January 2nd, 2007 at 3:06 pm
Thanks for doing it for another year. Your awards are really damn amusing and educational, as I always get turned on to a few new blogs.
January 2nd, 2007 at 3:58 pm
OMG, y’all missed me?!? There’s some serious sweetness under those tough as nails exteriors. Of course I missed both of you too
Perhaps I’ll finally get to meet ya in person in ‘07.
Thanks for another great redux!

*squeeeee* I’d like to thank my empathy with all knitters who know deep in their hearts that drinking and knitting DO TOO mix.

Thank you, I’m all blushing now.

LUVLUVLUV it when my fellow Bunny-folks and friends get acknowledged with awards. Here’s to ringing in the New Year, and as they say in Denmark, “Skols!”

I love when you guys do this. I always add about 10 more sites to my blog-roll. My employer thanks you for this!
January 3rd, 2007 at 12:48 pm
Thanks for the love ladies. You made my day, along with your cutie goat shots. Wanna trade a soap business for a couple goats?
January 3rd, 2007 at 1:04 pm
Thankyouthankyouverymuch! I feel so honored! And happy to have met you guys, even if you have now tripled my blogreading roll. Can’t wait to SAFF ‘07!
January 3rd, 2007 at 8:41 pm
OMG - HOLY S#!+… I am sitting here, trying to catch up with the latest blog posts of two of my favorite gals! Since 2006 was my first year as a blogger, I had no clue about your awards. And I got two! I am soooooo excited - THANK YOU!!! I promise to do my very best for 2007 to keep up the good work as your “lone arranger” - I like that
Lots of love and hugs to you, Jen and La - may 2007 be a good year for you, filled with all you need and want plus lots of fiber fun. I am so glad I met you last year. Rooms are reserved for SAFF 2007!

I love reading the annual awards. Besides making me laugh, I always find at least a couple of blogs I hadn’t found before. Thanks for another great one:)
January 4th, 2007 at 10:09 am
Do NOT hold number 37 against me. No, no, no. I was upset about Jean, true, true. ‘05 was rough for her, and I knew it. Mea culpa all over the place, OK?
Gotta go explore the rest of your list!
January 4th, 2007 at 12:50 pm
Well I am just so upset I didn’t win an award! I deserve a blahdeblah award for the …. um…. stuff I did…. uh…. yeah! Because my blog’s the, uh…. greatest? Yeah, that’s it.
Anyways, great job guys! I knew I shouldn’t have popped over for a quickie while I’m at work! Now I’ve got eleventy billion new blogs to poke around in! When I get fired I’m coming to live with you guys!
Oh, and I managed to run over 2006 just as I was getting on the freeway this morning. It was pretty crushed and limping to the shoulder when it was smashed flat by a bright yellow Hummer. Adios 2006!
January 4th, 2007 at 1:10 pm
Thanks for tipping your (collective) hat to Project Spectrum! It wasn’t quite a meme, but I will take the award anyway!!
January 4th, 2007 at 5:46 pm
Man, I had just weeded through all the blogs I read and deleted - reducing my daily reading time on the puter. Thanks - just added 20 new ones to enjoy.
January 4th, 2007 at 6:13 pm
Great list! THanks for all the new blogs to read!
I am naive. I love Brooklyn Tweed’s photos -how does he cheat?
January 5th, 2007 at 4:38 am

January 5th, 2007 at 8:30 am
What a great list! Thanks for taking the time to find some good new blogs to read.
January 5th, 2007 at 9:36 am
I am SO glad you gave Imbrium an award…she and Juno made sure I didn’t lose what was left of my mind.
Of course, it took me a week to get over here and tell you that, so clearly there’s not that much left
But I have a kickass scar, eh?
I’d say No Craniotomies in 2007 but we have another brain situation in the family that might require it, so….

Jaysus. I’m a dumbshit. How did I miss Dye-O-Rama AND Flat Scout. Wow. I feel honored. Or is it honoured?
Love you girls!!!
January 5th, 2007 at 5:14 pm
Oh, awesome! I knew stalking and babbling would pay off one day.
And squee! to see Pacalaga and Susoolu and on The List too. I love your list. Especially this year.
P.S. Me-me is not nearly as annoying as “woah”. It’s WHOA. Please. Or confusing bawling with balling.
January 8th, 2007 at 7:31 pm
That is a serious list of awards - thanks for all the links to the hidden gems out there! Now, how can one become your friend to win that podcast award in 2007?
(Hey, I’m just trying to spread the word. I’m thinking a bit about this in tonight’s show might help…)
January 9th, 2007 at 10:36 am
Wow! What a great list…can’t wait to go through them all. Thanks for taking the time to put this together. I’m really enjoying reading the little blurbs you guys wrote for each item, too.
I’m flattered for the shout out as JenLa’s “favorite hooker,” hehe. *blush blush* Looking forward to a great 2007. Thanks so much!

Basically we are okay with losing to cats.
